    Shipping Cost Table

This file contains the various transport price tables to calculate the transport price, based on country, area and weights of shipments to our customers. There will be a table for each shipping type the company uses (e.g., one for mail, one for shipping service, etc.).

The table file is common for all companies.

Once a table is created, it is assigned to a product. For example, the table coded as UPS is assigned to the UPSSHIP product by selecting the UPS table in the field "Calculate Price According to Shipping Table" of the product.

When you include a product related to a shipping table in a quote, order, packing slip or invoice, then the program will automatically calculate the price according to the customer's shipping address, the weight of the products (sum of the product weights) and the table related to this product.

    Detail screen:

    IMPORTANT FIELDS:

Table code. The value of this field is unique to the whole file. A record with an existing code cannot be added in the Add option.

Table type: There are two types of tables with different calculations:

    - Tables by weight. This field contains:

    • Country
    • First two digits of zip code
    • Initial weight (value not included). During the search, weights higher than the initial weight, but not equal, are included. For example, the weight interval from 10 to 20 will include from 10.001 to 20, but not 10.
    • Final weight (value included)
    • Shipping amount for these weights

This table type allows you to adjust the prices considerably, although it is necessary to enter as many records as weight brackets with different prices that we have for each country and province (area).

      Wildcards: Wildcards are allowed in:
      - Country: A value of ***** means any country
      - First two digits of zip code: A value of ** means any first two digits
Searches are performed as follows: By country, first two digits of zip code and weight. If no record is found, then the search will be done by: Country, ** (any first two digits of zip code) and weight. If this is also not found, search by *****, ** and weight (any country and first two digits of zip code).
A record that has: COUNTRY = ***** first two digits = ** initial weight=0 final weight=99999999999 AMOUNT=15: 15 would be calculated as the shipping amount for any country, first two digits and weight combination not existing in the table.

    - Tables by weight bracket. This field contains

    • Country
    • First two digits of zip code
    • Weight of initial section: kg of first bracket
    • Amount of first bracket
    • Weight of additional increments
    • Amount of each additional increment

A price is defined for the first price bracket and a second price for weight increments, such that there is only one record per country and province or area . The program calculates the price by searching for the record corresponding to the area and calculates the price according to the weight and brackets.

For example, define a shipping cost of 10 euros for the first 5 kg and a cost of 3 euros for every additional 2 kg. A package of 8 kg would cost:
10 euros the first 5 kg
      8 - 5 = 3 kg remaining => 2 fractions of 2 kg * 3 euros = 6
      Total 16 euros.

      Wildcards: Wildcards are allowed in:
      - Country: A value of ***** means any country
      - First two digits of any zip code: A value of ** means any first two digits
Searches are performed as follows: By country, first two digits of zip code. If no record is found, then the search will be done by: Country and ** (any first two digits). If this is also not found, search by *****, ** and weight (any country and first two digits).
      A record that has:
Country = ***** First two digits = ** Initial bracket = 5, Initial bracket amount = 6, Additional bracket = 1 and Additional bracket amount = 0.5 would apply 6 euros to the first 5 kg and 0.5 euros for each additional kg for any country and first two-digit combinations not existing in the table.
